Dancing To The Siknotes - If I hadn't danced to The Siknotes, no-one else would have...which would have then been boring. It's called supporting a band. Honestly, I'm not into the music they play but, unlike people who didn't like Left To Yesterday, I still supported instead of standing at the back and then saying they were shit on a forum.

One Car Pile-up - Call me sentimental but OCP played at the first gig I ever went to. This was the main reason I went. To be honest, I couldn't remember what they sounded like, but had an ace time first time round and so I went to this gig. They played well and were tight and entertaining but, if they had an album I wouldn't buy it...

And the problem with me having a good time is??? Nothing.

I thought Yeter Pang were pants most of the time but danced in support.

Plus, if you had a problem with it, Dave or Ellis, why didn't you tell me on the night?

People's musical taste will obviously evolve with the newer genres they are exposed to. Ostrasizing a particular section of the "scene" for these tastes is obviously counter productive, as is claiming ones styles superiority. Punk is as much an ethos as it is a musical style, I would be confidnet in stating that Strung Out don't aurally or ideologically adhere to the original definition of punk- but they are still classed as punk.
I don't care what genres of music any of you listen to and you shouln't care about my tastes. My actions and decisions however have little relevance to these taste so i would appreciate peoples condemnation to be justified before personal insults are forged.
Dave, i have always been as honest and accomodating towards you as i find fit, so your dismissal of my achievements as pretensios comes as something of a slight surpise. I was going to refrain from mentioning your glorified,trivial, americanised,ultra-generic, lyrically immature choice of music genre but then i realised your heroes are cocaine addled rockstars who couldn't be further from the defintition of punk. I love lagwagon, for me they are the best band I've ever heard and seen!! Big wig are pretty amazing aswell... belvedere are dead cool... beerbong kick ass... No use for a name, no fun at all, anti-flag, mock orange, midtown, millencollin's new album is ace, I need to get hold of some bollweevils stuff 'cos they're pretty cool.. As friends rust are pretty good aswell.. Strung out are ace but I like their older stuff. Tghe hippos are ace for cheering up and that 'cos they are dead happy and rocky at the same time.. ace.. Fridays gig was ace, UFK played dead well, I was impressed considering they got a new bassist a week before the gig.. [img]smile.gif[/img] OCP rocked It's always a treat to see them play. I hope people liked us.

firstly...the whole old school/wanker thing is a joke...no offence intended.
Secondly...someone criticised me for not having any lagwagon...well thats because I dont get sent any....I cant afford to be buying cds...so it is down to who promotes....
I would appreciate a compilation cd being made up by someone featuring their favourite tracks by various bands...numbered and with tracklistings,because apart from the surface...it is a genre that has passed me by...that way I have always got something to cater for you with...
I just want to clarifythe whole request thing....
We have all made compilation tapes in the past and on average..you tend to fit 12 songs onto one side of a ninety minute tape...which makes 24 in total...times that by 3 to equate the ammount of time I have at a rock night and that makes 72....
On average I get to play around 80-90 songs per night realistically...the average crowd at Park lane is around 130....so if I take one request from each person...I cant play them all.I know that doesnt happen ever....but I do get a hell of a lot of requests...so I try to limit it to 2 or 3 per group if you will (circles of friends)So believe me,when I have said I dont have time for something...I am not bullshitting,I am being honest...which is something you dont get with many djs.Its always been my policy to tell the truth...and if I ever do say I will play a track and I don't,that is because I have over estimated what time I have left.....
I just wanted to explain that to people..but if someone could help me with a compilation(again I stress,it NEEDS a tracklisting)then I will be more than happy to cater for you....plus it gives me a chance to listen to stuff at home that I dont get sent much of...largely because punk labels have tended to be unresponsive to my requests to be added to mailing lists.
